Cable Tube Sealing for gas and liquid tight sealing of protection tubes
Datasheet for Cable Tube Sealing device
Installation and Maintenance of the KKA-100

In the past the gastight sealing of cable protection tubes was solved inadequately. When the number or diameter of cables were changed, the old sealing has been destroyed.

The cable tube sealing KKA-100 guarantees a gas- and liquid tight sealing with a minimum of installation costs. The retrofitting can be done easily without touching or altering old cables.

The cable tube sealing is patented and proved oneself in the field for years.

Fitting:

The cable tube sealing is installed at the ends of cable protection tubes. It has several apertures for high-strength cable glands. The cables or thin pipes are led trough these glands.

The bodies of the cable glands are already fitted tightly. The inner diameter of the rubber gaskets is variable, so that cables or pipes with an outer diameter of 9-20 mm can be used. For further details have a look at the datasheet.

Installation Procedure:

  • The elements of the rubber gaskets are to be removed according to the cable/pipe-diameter. Now the cables/pipes are led trough the high-strength cable glands.

  • The cable tube sealing device is to be inserted in the protection tube and to be aligned. The hexagon socket, which holds together the cover plates, is tightened slightly as long as the KKA can be moved in the protection tube.

  • The unused lead-troughs are sealed with a universal blind plug. Pay attention that the diameter of the factory-mounted rubber gasket is not to be changed.

  • The high-strength cable glands are to be hand-screwed.

  • The KKA is gas- and liquid-tight with two clockwise rotations of the hexagon socket.

Maintenance:

To guarantee the gas proofness permanently a recurring verification is necessary. It should be done with the general inspection of the facilities, but within 24 months.

The following has to be checked:

  • Correct alignment of the KKA

  • All unused lead-troughs have to be sealed with a blind-plug

  • Tight fit of the high-strength cable glands

  • Tight fit of the hexagon socket

Examples of spacial arrangement:

Usually only one KKA-100 is used at the end of a cable protection tube.

To use the cable tube efficiently, the following arrangements are possible:
