History:

|
The company Scharpwinkel was founded in 1897, the same year the Diesel Engine was developed. The first innovative product was the temperature resistant strip wound metal hose for exhaust pipes.
In those days, the largest buyers of our products was the shipbuilding industry. This was strongly developed in Hamburg until the mid seventies. Therefore, the company Scharpwinkel orientated itself to products for the shipbuilding industry. For example, expansion joints and required accessories.
The technical advancement and many years of development led to the airtight stainless steel bellow. This can be used as an expansion joint and a hose. It guaranties durability and the absence of any gas emissions. Therefore this bellow is the industry's favourite today.
The used materials, e.g. stainless steel A2 and A4, respectively alloy steel for even higher temperatures and increased chemical durability, do not age as opposed to plastic and bronze.
The worldwide decrease of the shipbuilding industry caused a lower demand for our products. This trend and the increasing demand for safety products led to new developments. The products that are worth mentioning are the safety under-/overpressure relief valve, type SPV and the cable tube sealing, type KKA. Our cable tube sealing is used for instance in nearly all German petrol stations to avoid detonations or explosions caused by leak gases getting into the building.
Many large companies buy our advanced products. Thus we have many references.
The history of Scharpwinkel is influenced consequently by strong technical progress as well as the new awareness for safe and ecologically friendly products.

The products from Scharpwinkel are mostly in-house developments and are the latest in technology.
In order to be able to offer the sophisticated products cheaply, we produce components partly in foreign countries, for instance France, Holland, Belgium, Austria and Switzerland amongst others.

Quality Assurance
|
To guarantee products of constant high quality, the assembly and check is done in Germany.
Many products have TÜV certificates. Moreover, many qualified certificates confirm that our products have proven themselves over the years or even decades.

Distribution
|
Scharpwinkel is the exclusive supplier of all offered products.
We do the design, production and sale on our own. Therefore we can pass product improvements more dynamically and cheaply to our customers than others.
